The Althorpe Ukulele & Guitar Group was started in September 2017 and meets each Friday morning at the Stephenson Memorial Hall in Althorpe. There are about 20 regular musicians, although the attendance has been affected by the pandemic. The Group leader/tutor is Brett Smith a guitar and ukulele teacher from Doncaster. The group is open to both those who are interested in learning how to play the guitar or ukulele and also to accomplished players who are wanting to play with others and at the same time improve their playing so if anybody reading this is interested, please come along – you’re sure of a warm welcome (9.30 - 10.00 Beginners Guitar 10.00 - 11.00 Ukulele 11.00 - 12.00 Guitar).

The Group has given concerts in Althorpe, but this is the first time that they have performed at the Epworth Music Day.

The music played is mainly country and pop and often the guitars and ukuleles play together to give a distinctive sound.
