The Gastrick Band started when a group of friends came together to enjoy playing some acoustic music, but it quickly snowballed and there are now seven members in the band. They are happy to be described as enthusiastic amateur musicians who don’t take themselves or their music too seriously, and just enjoy playing a range of instruments that includes accordions, melodeon, guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin, recorder, flute and two vocalists, all ably kept in time by an ex-professional drummer. Their repertoire is far ranging and worldwide and includes traditional roots, folk, blues, pop, dance and anything else in between. They play the occasional concert in the Doncaster area.
